BlueStorm said...I'm 17 so my opinion counts for diddly squat, still i think all this shows is how messed up the world is. I remember being in year 2 at the time and watching my morning cartoons when it happened. Some how some geniuses from America had decided that this should take control of other countries networks, as if to say they wouldn't have shown the event themselves. So instead of watching my morning colourful cartoons such as pokemon LOL, like the rest of my generation in Australia, I instead got to witness people jumping to their deaths from the two building while rednecks declared world war three. In retrospect it probably didn't effect me that much. Still i got to see the hypocrisy in it, Americans declaring a "war of terror" and terrorizing children after being subjected to a terrorist attack

9/11 was and still is a horrific event in history, I just thought i'd give a kids perspective.
good perspective mate. I was on a stint at Paraburdoo and was in my donga watching the series "lock stock and 2 smoking barrels when vision of a tower on fire came on. I just thought it was an accident. then the second plane hit.
the next morning in the mess everyone was glued to the TV. But mining companies are a 24/7 deal so somewhat strangely, we had brekky made a crib up and packed into the troopie for a day's survey. it was a surreal work day. people were dead and dying in New York and I was walking through the scrub under a beautiful Pilbara sky. the events compelled me to make a call to mum and dad the next night. for some reason I really wanted to hear their voices.
Whilst I felt sad and angry as to what these poor buggers went through, I was equally dismayed when we decided to invade a sovereign nation under the pretense of combating terrorism. In the meantime the USA economy has gone to hell and their young men are coming home in body bags. Civilians are dying by the score and we also mourn the loss of our own young men. I dont know the solution is....
Ado.
