When people finally wake up to the fact that our system is completely corrupt and change it for a better system we will come of age as a species and realise our true potential.
And, Saltiest, in that system there will be no Barbie in Fairytopia. Your average nine year old daughter will likely be studying calculus and playing a musical instrument in concerts when she is not with her family and friends. She will not be subject to the eternal mindless claptrap that is used to dumb our kids down and keep them on the wheel and as far away from possible to their true potential.
Very well said japie. The dumbing down of our children is I believe the most criminal thing happening in our society.
BTW Does anybody else on the forum besides japie and I know what the word "japie" (pronounced yaarpy) means. Maybe japie could explain.

It is horrible isn't it? My housemate and I baby sit a five year old. I reckon i could graph accuratley her bad behaviour spikes to sugar intake. I am sure everyone can quote an example.
We have an uninvited guest, 21 years old from out west NSW, staying at the moment, for the past 8 weeks, hopefully soon gone, who has absolutely no concept of the real world. There have been some very brusque conversations and hopefully some ground made but I shake my head to think that there are young men out there, who have half the concept of how to behave that I did at the age of fifteen.
Lilly, our frequent little five year old guest, relishes in walks on the beach, something only I seem to achieve. Her mum shakes her head when she brings home a very smelly and dead mutton bird I have told her she can keep as a pet. Or that seaweed is mermaid poo and if you can get a big enough hand net you are going to catch a whale. I have told her tomorrow if the tide is right

We play burn your feet off when the white water from waves hits you on it's way up but you can hop back at it and stomp a foot back as it goes out as long as you hit the froth.
When we do this she is on another planet. Her screams are screams of glee. It is something to see an athletic five year old fleeing from the wash for fear of her feet burning off with a smile that would light up a tomb.
It is deliberate Cisco, this dumbing down of that I have no doubt.
What good is it to an inherently corrupt society to have a large percentage of informed people? Can only lead to trouble!
I got the nickname Japie when I emmigrated from SA. I am actually not South African. I was born in Burundi, spent 12 years in Tanzania before the folks, poms in the Colonial service, moved to the Republic which I left in 1979.
I was the second Japie (south african) at the Albury Rugby Club and it stuck.
The origions, in my understanding, come from the common christian name Jaap in Dutch. Popular in farming communities in South Africa it became a label for criticism as in PlaasJapie, or redneck farmer. Got shortened to Japie and then tagged to any one who came out of the Republic.
Bit like Kiwis and sheep really
