I don't think it's a stitch up, I think it is poorly timed and should have been fully investigated years ago.

As i heard an RSL spokesperson say "Justice delayed, is justice denied".

But once the whole defamation thing played out, it absolutely needed to thoroughly and transparently investigated and brought to trial if that's what evidence turned up.
Once the defamation case brought all this to light, it would have been Un-Australian to sweep it under the rug and pretend we never saw it.

If the allegations of war crimes in Afghanistan were properly and professionaly investigated within a few years, and prior to the media putting BRS through the ringer, it's unlikely there would be this much anger about it now.

How can you write the Palestinian movement is not political or nationalist. That astounds me. At its core its a political nationalist movement seeking land identity and statehood. The groups in charge are fundamentally religious. I think you got checkmated and now are just trying to yell over the top.

You do support a religious nationalist movement after all. It happens to hate Jews and would love to eradicate them . Ringing any bells.

Gaza has been an occupied state by an an aggressive pariah nationalist country, that has been funding Hamas for decades. No surprises that they hate Israel - most of the world feel the same way.

Israel is a finished state from what I can tell. They failed to remove Hamas and are far from regime change in Iran - they lost. Lets wave them bye bye.

But Israel is also one of the few (if only?) states currently growing its territory.

Maybe you could say Russia is also trying, but I think Russia is more trying to reclaim what it has lost in the last few decades, whereas Israel is taking what it never had.

If Israel continues to expand at the same rate it has since 1948 then it will eventually occupy 87.2% of the combined lands of both the earth and the moon.

Oh yeah, just to be pedant I don't think Gaza has ever been a state, or even really ever claimed to be a state.

Although maybe IanR can use one of his many dictionaries to find a definition of 'state' that meets some description that could also be applied to the Gaza strip.

Checking my dictionary it says 'a' is for apple......

Territory, no doubt. Population wise they are dwarfed by neighbors who hate them. So I think holding the land gained is unsustainable. I also can't see U.S. funding their war efforts, to the same extent, for too much longer. They've lost, which is unfortunate as there is nowhere else who wants them.

But to answer your question, I support some stuff Trump does, not all. I support some stuff Albanese does, not all. I don't take a side in politics and support everything that side does because that's my side.

Like you said regarding BRS its not left vs right. You need think for yourself and sometimes I just don't know what to think. I dont know what to think about BRS being charged.

well I'll be more pedantic. It was a recognised kingdom or whatever with some kind of ownership in biblical times and Israel conquered it.
Then lost it. Then maybe got it back again. Then lost it again.
The problem is tribal historical ownership and they read slightly different versions of the old book so they gonna fight.

Israel withdrew in 2005 I think. Billions of dollars were pumped in by UN. It could could have been a 5 star resort destination with all that money . Instead Hamas dug tunnels and made bombs and kept everyone in poverty. Except of course for the leaders living it up in luxury hotels offsite.

It's in most of the worlds best interests for Israel to exist - where they are and agree to a two state solution. But they are failing to make that work. They are fighting wars on 7 fronts now. They have shown scant regard for any kind of diplomacy and are a pariah state.

Do you continue to condone the war crimes that Israel have been charged with under international law?

Well I have to agree I am not a legal proffesional so most likely ignorant of many of the technical aspects of law

My limited research keeps bring up the same reasons why he was acquitted by the high court. That being the jury should have had a reasonable doubt given the evidence.

So is the legal technicality you keep referring to the need to be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by evidence.

I know a little more about the Palestine Authority than you might think I meet Yasser Arafat a couple of months after the signing of the first Oslo Accord and it seemed as thought there was hope for peace in the region. Unfortunately it turn out that Israels aim was to create something like a South African Homeland ( Transkei ) in Israel

The facts are Israel funded Hamas, and it blew up in their face.

No, no. Don't you go watching Channel 7, they are on the wrong side.

Nine Network is what you want. They will provided you with the '..but they were all poor innocent civilians and the ADF is just a bunch of machismo white privileged men oppressing the downtrodden' reassurances you are seeking.
