Maybe he should get his wife to write a puff piece about how he watches home and away?

I don't think he has a wife. The bloke he jacked off to in London was an undercover police officer.

Jones has such a colourful life without an original thought in his head. I'm constantly surprised people take him so seriously one way or another.

Are you all aware that the Wallabies played 3 tests over 5 weeks in 1986 against the All Blecks on NZ soil and took the Blesisloe home. This series win was the first in 39 years on NZ soil. Alan Jones was coach. Do I need to say anymore ?
So he got a touch excited while taking a pi55 in a London toilet - put in down to a misunderstanding perhaps.

Jones actually was misquoted, he did'nt say "he died of shame' he actually said
"he must have been ashamed of her before he died"
A huge difference in meaning, and nastiness,of course the pinko, greeny, lefty, trendy
bedwetters have run with the former quote as its much more usable for the cause.
Which is to silence Jones
Jones is actually camp as, which makes me wonder about having been an english
teacher at the kings boys school in sydney and rugby coaching etc.

Actually the more I think about it the more I'm embarrassed, and even a little saddened for the guy.
It's a bit like watching an elderly family member's mental faculties deteriorating - starts as a few inappropriate comments about the teenage cousins - a bit funny, also a bit awkward, then they start being seriously inappropriate and you feel they're no longer safe to have around your friends. Then they start getting seriously nasty - it becomes a nightmare to take them to the shops because they abuse shop staff, then they start being horrible to even relatives. Then they end up as those old people who no one can stand to be around because they're just horrible all the time. It's like they lose their 'tact chip'.
At the same time they start losing the ability to cope with new things, especially technology. The world becomes a scary and confusing place. The more they struggle the more they think that everyone's out to get them.
His audience is probably largely in the same boat - that's why they're so sympathetic - they too don't understand the world around them. They however get to go through this road in relative privacy. He gets to do it on the radio.
The radio station should pension him off - it's cruel to make him go through this in public. Does anyone doubt that he will say something equally offensive or worse in the next few months? He's an absolute liability to advertisers now - and the dollar power of his "cyberbullies" is probably greater than his pensioner supporters.

Bulls**t Boofta.

"The old man recently died a few weeks ago of shame." is exactly what he said. Look it up.

Of course it suits the marching hammer acolytes of the right to float the rumor that their most strident sensation mongering government basher was just misquoted so maybe you were misled.

I and many others wish he would shut up. He's a a shock jock, a bottomless pit of vitriolic partisan diatribe. He doesn't even pretend to respect journalistic ethics. Balance? It's a wonder he can stand up.

I have zero sympathy for him. In fact I get a little frisson of joy to see one of those shock jocks hoist with his own petard. It's poetic justice.

Even Julian Assange wants to sue the bit...

She sold you all out, and now your crying foul cos a hate jokey said some BS, when every other word she says is a lie.

Let me guess it's Tony the one with a strong woman problem's fault.

Australian politics is like an in-bread's orgy of stupidity and incompetence.
Go on focus on a radio presenter like the controlled sheep, while she stabs that knife further in your back.

They're 2 different topics: what one thinks of her, and whether public figure with a microphone should be allowed to talk the way he did.

I don't like her much either, but what I think of her does not influence the latter - it's a matter of principle IMO.

Anyhow, the vast majority has spoken, which includes the anti-Julias I'm sure...

The way I see it most seemed concerned with defending the back stabber.

If it's a question of free speech, then it also applies to morons, bigots, liars, stupid anti Muslim videos, and unfortunately lying back stabbing politicians... as a discerning adult it's up to you to filter it out.

Does anybody know for sure how her father felt about her when he died? Alan sure didn't so you know he was talking crap... Enable filter.

"...a bottomless pit of vitriolic partisan diatribe." I think I'll use this quote in the future when referring to a pollie commentator that I don't like!

As for Alan's outburst...personally, I reckon the whole thing's a political stunt.

In other news, Tony Abbott got up in parliament today and said to the Prime Minister "your government should have died of shame by now".

What an appalling thing to say. A cold, calculating, reptilian blow to the PM. Shows him as a disgusting person, willing to stick the knife in over someone's father's death - just to try to score a political point.

I don't care about the politics - if my dad had been dead 2 weeks and some guy gets up across the table and smartarsedly insinuates that he died of shame, somehow, even though I'd made it to leader of the whole fkin country, I'd be over that table led by 2 fists.

The Prime Minister got up and absolutely ripped him a new one. Several new ones, in fact. It was a great speech. Worth the 15 minutes to watch.

The original Abbott speech was much better and more truthful... except for that shame bit - which the Libs in the background face palmed

And now... Slipper has gone...

And Christoper Pyne has had a crack too!

They should have died of shame, the whole lot of them.

Quick serious question, do we actually need a PM?
Face it, the public servants that "really" run the country don't change with the government. What do we really gain with a PM?

Abbotts excuse is that he had 'forgotten' the original Alan Jones comment. Is he stupid, lying or completely unaware of current events? None ideal qualities in an aspiring leader of the nation.
All that work his wife put into making him more appealing to women voters is gone I'd say.
Most amusing day in politics in a long while!

Yesterday confirmed my idea about the future of Abbott. I've long thought that if the polls got to within 52/48 then the coalition would move on Abbott. The thing is, love her or hate her when Gillard gets up on to her hind legs and starts swinging Tony Abbott will always come off second best. And the coalition know it.

.... and then says he should stay as speaker and votes down a motion to change speaker and then, a few hours later, applauds him for standing down as speaker saying he has done the right thing by stepping aside.

then again I guess enthusiastically supporting a collegue and then dumping him and slagging him off is par for the course ?

The only winner in this is Alan, Alan, Alan. A person who exists only for controversy and will say anything to incite a reaction, has got the biggest public reaction of recent times. Well done, Alan. I'll mention your name one more time 'cause I know you like to hear it Alan.

Not sure about that - the right is appalled, the left thinks she's fantastic now. I think it's just polarised peoples views further, but I doubt many people have changed their political leanings either way.
