Bit like saying a large % of traffic accidents are attributable to speed. If cars did not move, then the accident rate would decrease dramatically.
Where do I get on board to derive funding for such studies?
You can make stats say anything you want if you try hard enough.
Teenagers take risks with or without alcohol. Most of them survive, but a small percentage (tragically) don't.
Been happening for centuries.

Kids are staying at home too long these days is the main problem, they have a surplus of disposable income..... Kids used to move out of home MUCH earlier years ago, meaning they had less disposable income after paying rent / bills etc... (so less to spend on alcohol) .

crap. i always found a way to buy grog & smokes as first priority, even living out of home as a 1st year apprentice. bills, rent, food etc could wait

maybe because when we were younger, there was usually only a couple of people maggotedly stupid drunk (usually me) at the party...

now the reason to party is to get stupidly maggotedly drunk...

You can't ban it...young people need to be better educated and that education needs to start and finish with mum and dad...kids with responsible attitudes toward alcohol get it from the parents...take a look at a lot of European countries as examples (not russia)

Seems a big part is the type of alcohol they drink. Recently hosted my daughters 18th birthday party at our home. Rules were they had to stay the night and they all brought tents and when they arrived we confiscated their car keys. But back on point, not one of them brought beer or even wine to drink, it was all either bottles of spirits or premix spirits.

Good point bro...spirits are some high octane **** when your 17 or 18..mix 'em with energy drinks and its even worse

I wouldn't mind personally if it was banned. It's just alcohol. I don't really need it.

Of course there would be an outcry "You're infringing my rights" and "Prohibition doesn't work" and there is an element of truth to both, but you obviously have to be careless of the lives of others to get on that bandwagon so one must ask whether your rights should be respected. However you'd never get a majority of politicians behind banning because every selfish s**t has a vote. Maybe there could be an acceptable middle ground like limiting alcoholic content? or raising the drinking age?

I guess a mass education campaign like the occasional road toll mitigation campaign would be palatable and not totally ineffective.
