I'm trying to figure out how cut resistant fabric helps. Sure - I understand the "slice" protection, but my experience is from impact cuts. I wear a 4/3 wetsuit for all sessions. I recently had a close encounter with my foil in shorebreak. The mast hit my forearm really hard. No cut in the wetsuit, but a nasty gash in my arm. If a wetsuit didn't help, how would a rash guard-thin cut fabric protect me?

Same with my shin and the trailing edge of the stab. Wetsuit was fine, but a razor-like gash in my shin.

I hope the magnets do repel and not attract.

Thank you! The chinooks look nice. What size fixed lines do you use on a boom? The parawing ones look good too. Aren't bungee lines too stretchy?

There is a fixed line inside the bungees, so once it is stretched to the length of the fixed line it stops stretching. The bungee retracts when it is unloaded.

Im pretty tall, but I use the 26" chinook. I'd probably go 24" if I bought it again.

So, would a 24" Chinook windsurf monoline be equivalent to a Medium PKS bungee monoline (since 24"/ 2 = 12" or 30 cm)?

Hey all,

Anyone has experience with the 'Mystic Wing Harnesslines Center Connect'?
www.you-love-it.eu/shop/en/mystic-center-connect-harness-line-for-hard-handles-2025

I'm looking for a vario mono line and this one looks ok. They have two variantions, that appears to be measuring the distance between boom and hook: 25-33cm/33-42cm. If not other suggestions for mono/vario lines are welcome! Thanks!

I'm using the shortest one at the shortest setting. PVC tubing snapped on the first session. It was still usable, but too long. The warranty replacement has been fine for a few sessions now. Just need to really tighten it on the boom so that it does not slide around when rotating it out of the way to pump. (And even when it's not rotated up, it doesn't swing when pumping at the shortest setting that I'm using).

Faff, I ride Armstrong hs2 780 with the dart 140 tail, +0.5 shim, cedrus wing mast (90 or 72), foil positioned at center of mass balance point of board. Board is a 78 L Emissary. I ride f-one wings of different generations (mostly newer). I mainly ride in the Columbia Gorge so generally there's swell but certainly not always big swell. Generally I looks for mid-strength days to work on speed (17-22 kt). I'm 85-ish kg

I heard that original Armstrong HA foils were very technical. But if that's not the foil I think it is, then you should have no issues at all hitting 20 knots with that setup. Ride higher on the mast. Bear away as much as possible in a gust in a flat spot, moving your weight forward as the front foot pressure rises. You don't need to be hooked in. Might consider taking off the board leash, so that the board does not fly after you in a crash. (Would need to know how to body drag, of course).

Worth remembering that racers are on long masts, different foils, and different wings than us. There's technique for sure, but there's also a ton of gear variables that make the experience way different than the average Joe's out riding swell and mowing the lawn.

No doubt but I feel I should be able to break 20 on my setup and cruse around at 16-18 instead of 13-15. Or maybe I'm mistaken?

What's your setup? Wind strength? Water state? (Flat water really helps).
