E- N Attadale foreshore. Rig at the kiters beach up near Pt Walter. With more N you can sail up almost to Melville.
N- W - S Melville

Kiters beach - Burke Drive, bottom of Page St.

Northerlies hardly ever make it to the coast, let alone the river, unfortunately.

Watch out for those 35 knot green arrows on Rotto while there is nothing but red on Melville Water.

The breeze should come in when it turns NW.

Crazy Waves won't do anything with no swell

But anyway it is about 200m NNW of Pt Catherine (which is just south of South Beach)
So between the two groynes just south of the South Bch carpark, a bit offshore

I tried Pelican Point at sunrise this morning and the wind was very light.
Out in the middle of the river occasionally a strong 5 second gust would blow through but the average was more like 5knots than the 20+ that was forecast.
I guess AUS1111 is right that the northerlies don't make to the river.
Hopefully the North-Westerlies tomorrow morning will be better.

Hi All, I went to Majestic Point in Applecross this morning. Had one of the best sails that I've had in a long time. Really clean wind, flat water in near the jetty and even some small wind waves that you could get two or three turns on! Great beach and grass to rig on. Was on a 6.0 wave sail and an 105L FSW board. Was just perfect, and really cooking once out in the middle.I'll definitely go there again.I would imagine that this works anywhere from a Northerly to an Easterly.

down here is was not so proper windy. I had to settle for the river and probably got there a bit late. Usual gusts. I had my largest sail i could find within my quiver range which was the 5.8 Atlas and old faithful Sumo 125. Yep i was in struggle town, though i did get a couple of big planing runs otherwise dogged it the whole time. Had a ride on a JP magic ride 104 with a NCX 7.0 OMG....Glad my smile stopped at my ears otherwise i'd be in a whole lot of trouble. absolute rocket

Looking for that bigger sail now and may have found one Tush T4 6.5. Should suit the Sumo just fine

Hey Vince, I was using a 6.5 T4 yesterday. A very nice freeride sail and easy to gybe. I am sure you will like it.
I'm not sure when you turned up but the wind did get holey after 11 AM. Before then it was pretty consistent and strongest at the Melville end.
Most of the guys were on 7.5 and bigger, but 6.5 is a good step up from 5.8 for a start.

That's good to know. I just need to make sure it will fit and rig properly on either of a couple of old masts i have.
