Is it my imagination, or does this happen more in WA than over in the eastern states?

I do wonder though if the cars simply are stolen to simply be rebirthed on the East Coast... or stripped down for parts to be sold on the east coast. The annyoing is that you know they probably just dump the gear somewhere otherwise it would pop up on Gumtree, Ebay, Cash Converter etc.
Actually, does anyone know if there is a meta search engine for stolen gear? IE have an item stolen, enter it into the search bot and get automatically notified if it pops up on any of the regular buy and sell online publications.

That sucks.
Not sure if you have it handy but providing additional details such as engine number, chassis number, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), year of manufacture, odomoter, specific dents, rego details.... I know all this can me erased, modified and split into spare parts but you never know.
I remember for many years I was naively using the old approach of putting the keys onto the wheel damper spring plate and nothing would happen... now I use a sealed bag and take the keys with me in the water.
