The Boss of the Bay is a race that has been running at Safety Bay Yacht Club since 1973. We are once again going back to past tradition of holding the race around Warnbro Sound, this year we plan on running the event over 2 days.

Saturday 6th April - Long distance race for all.
Sunday 7th April - Fleet racing

Long distance race for Windsurfers will start at Long Beach/Point in Port Kennedy and will head across Warnbro Sound and finish at the Safety Bay Yacht Club.

Entry is $40 for Saturday or $60 for both days.

Lets make it the most Epic Kitesurfing, Windsurfing, off the beach Dinghy Sailing regatta Western Australia has ever seen.

Let's see who's the BOSS April 2019!!!!!!!!

The Forecast is looking good. Get out and challenge yourself with a different event format and support a club that is a MASSIVE Supporter of WWA.

Sunday course racing should be a great one for the ODs to attend and sail somewhere different

Just wanted to say Thanks to the Safety Bay Yacht club. Perfect conditions and great race. Just surprised more sailors didn't turn up, you missed out on a fun day. Looking forward to next year. :))

Great pic DG.
I'm interested to know how competitive the slappers were to the foilers given an all down wind course?

Unfortunately for the foilers it was not a deep downwind course. More a one reach broad run. ( everyone could have run a lot deeper) The low riders had a definite speed advantage on this angle. Was only able to hit 24 knot peaks speeds on the foil. Still great fun in the 20 odd knot breeze with very little weed to worry about.
