It has been quite a radical morning at Bell Bouy. Mast high waves breaking of the point and overhead on the inside, with 35-40 knots of cross shore wind and sunny. It is supposed to be like that whole week, maybe the waves could get a bit bigger over the next few days . Low tides are in the morning, but high tides could be fine on the point.

Is anyone thinking of any sailing up north this week?

I sailed East with Luka today. It was a little windy (peaking in the 37-45 range) and the waves were inconsistent. I did get a couple of nice shots of Luka.

What a difference a week makes sandcastles to slashing mast high waves both ends of state on fire this week

The last 2 weeks would almost be the same Ant Man. (25-30 min)
The wind up here over the last 2 weeks was like was in the 90's before Eldarado El Nino came along

I am glad it was gusty there too.

Hamish, Greenie and I made the drive to Bakers just to find the wind gusting from about 10 knots to 40 knots - it was madness.

It hit 50 knots according to the observations and I can assure you it was every bit that. I was in the shallows at the time, trying to hold my gear down. I had to put my helmet back on to protect me from the rain impact. A vicious change. Hamish sailed out the back most of the day, and fortunately smashed in the nose of his board (yes, fortunately) and was off the water just before the gust hit. If he was out the back he would have been history.

Rafa turned up as we were leaving too. I hope he is not still floating around the ocean somewhere...Rafa - are you alive?

Had a nice sail at Pilots Bay today. There was very little wind when we got there but it slowly built up. One big rain squall came through that messed with conditions for a while. Pilots is a great location in the WNW. The photos are Paul B.
