I think we had a post on this a while back, but it included spot records for different types of gear, etc. How about we do an outright 2-sec max spot record listing at the main speeds sailing spots (and maybe other spots where people often sail)?

Spots:
Henty River
Montagu - 40.910 Izaak Perkins gpsteamchallenge.com.au/sailor_session/show?date=2011-05-13&team=27
Stanley West Inlet - 38.150 Ian Johnston gpsteamchallenge.com.au/sailor_session/show?date=2010-09-16&team=27
Stanley East Inlet
Port Sorell - 41.860 Dave Morehead gpsteamchallenge.com.au/sailor_session/show?date=2012-01-08&team=27
Tamar River -34.508 Izaak Perkins gpsteamchallenge.com.au/sailor_session/show?date=2009-11-29&team=27
Moulting Lagoon - 34.350 Jason Smith gpsteamchallenge.com.au/sailor_session/show?date=2009-06-20&team=27
Swanick - 34.570 Ian Johnston gpsteamchallenge.com.au/sailor_session/show?date=2008-11-23&team=27
Marion Bay Lagoon - 34.824 Dave Morehead gpsteamchallenge.com.au/sailor_session/show?date=2007-12-31&team=27
Pittwater - 35.840 Dave Morehead gpsteamchallenge.com.au/sailor_session/show?date=2011-11-16&team=27
Doran's - 40.09 Dave Morehead gpsteamchallenge.com.au/sailor_session/show?date=2011-04-23&team=27
Cremorne - 36.81 Dave Morehead gpsteamchallenge.com.au/sailor_session/show?date=2012-03-06&team=27
Mortimer Bay - 37.100 Dave Morehead gpsteamchallenge.com.au/sailor_session/show?date=2009-08-01&team=27
Derwent River - 34.280 Dave Morehead gpsteamchallenge.com.au/sailor_session/show?date=2009-04-05&team=27

Any other spots?

Post your best 2-sec max speed and I'll update the list above!!

Looks like it's about to get windy again, so a good time to break some spot records!!

Time to update again Dave Dad uploaded to GPSSS and got more out of it as it uses GPSresults as it's upload program. It did look very weird on realspeed as over the 2sec peak highlighted it should of been around what he got of GPSresults. DEfinatly will be buying GPSresults and now i know why people call realspeed 'slow speed'.

Izaak, now I know why your posted results have suddenly changed in the past. Dave, might as well hold off updating results until everyones gone back through their history and recaculated their results using GPSresults.
Geez the speed knockers are going to have fun with this. Just shows how much crap it is when we go on about someone beeting someone else by point whatever of a knot. Especially when someones using software that gives them nearly half a knot more than the others software gives them.

I use realspeed to analyse my results but I use KA72 to upload my results to the GPSTC website. I uploaded a couple of results to the GPS Speed surfing website today as a bit of a test and I thought I'd do my first post to that site, since I always forget to post my sessions.

It was interesting to see for both sessions that the difference between gps-results and KA72 was within .1 of a knot, so seems like KA72 is a good program to use

I just bought the software and compared my run at Hawley.

It was 41.860 knots using KA72 and RealSpeed and 41.890 using GPSResults, so only 0.03knot different.

I usually check my results using Realspeed and then post via KA72. I can't recall ever seeing a discrepancy between Realspeed and KA72 (they are always the same).

Just checked my best two second:
Realspeed - 45.750
GPSResults - 45.846
A 0.096 difference (less than 0.1 of a knot).

I reckon I'll just continue to post using KA72. It automatically posts where you sailed and that's good for doing searches within MyData!

I think it's fine to use any of the recognised software programs (Realspeed, GPSResults, etc).

Yes but did Perks use KA72 to post the 41.970 or realspeed, because i was just comparing ka72 to Gps-results for a self test, nothing to do with realspeed. So the conclusion was that ka72 was VERY close to gps-results on my two files that i uploaded through both bits of software this morning.

Sorry if I was sounding negative. I've been a bit too much like that lately. Well done to everyone for constantly raising the bar. With all my delemas at Stanley I dont think I properly congratulated Perks on his awesome 5x10 and new Tassie record, nice work in tough conditions ya fast bugga
The 5x10 shows who is consistently the fatsest sailor on the water and is the one to claim all bragging rights.

OK, Kaleb has just laid the challenge down for us to include 5x10 in this list.

Perhaps we do another list below the current one for 5x10, top three, same as before!!

Ben, I like you enthusiasm!! Perhaps we make it that a spot needs to have an over 30 knots 2-second session before it can be added to the list? There's a double challenge for you (I mean that by way of encouragement)!!!
