It bounced, just as MSW said it would - "Trust the 'weed"

Nine on the water at Belbuoy! I'll thank you all to go and find your OWN beach in future...

In reality, it is really good to see other people sailing, to pick up some pointers, check out some gear.

Come any time (just make sure you leave Houston locked in the dunny like you did today) - THAT was a good plan.

It's hard to pick out who is who apart from Simon on the Pryde sail. Is Damo sailing a Severne board?

Nice one northern sailors. We southerners had to endure on/off sailing as the gusts came through at Dorans. Lots of us took our smaller wave gear but probably should have taken the bigger slalom gear instead. Ah well, fingers crossed for Saturday. And holey dooley it's looking windy! 25+ knots westerly for most good sailing locations around the state. Quite a few spots it's forecast to go 35+!!

I just arrived in Tassi, would Bellbuoy be good for Saturday as well or is there another spot, that's more side- / side-off maybe? I reside in Ulverstone at the moment, kenn for a drive if it's good conditions. Smallest sail is a 4.0 though, hope that isn't too big ;)

Bellbouy is going to be great Saturday, good swell and plenty of wind and the 4 will be just fine. Us northern sailors are very excited by Saturday's forecast

Was great fun sailing on Wednesday at Bell Bouys with you lot after having an epic sail at Port Sorrel the day before - Awesome to see so many windsurfers on the water. Cheers, Fletch

I'll be there shortly after. If it's crazy might have to head to East beach?

It will be a fairly small window of opportunity, but since it will be a "white-knuckle" wind, that is probably just fine!

Bring the little guns!

Damn, I'll probably have to work till 10-11ish and got a 2h drive to Bellbuoy's. High tide is no good?

Bellbuoy high tide - we tend to try to sail on the 1/2 tide as this seems to produce the better bumps, but it depends on the day. It would be wrong to say that Bellbuoy is no good on a high tide, but it is better lower.

For those who are interested, I have just done the rounds, and East is far more organised than Bellbuoy. I am heading back to East now with a view to putting up a 3.7.

East sounds like a good plan. Bellbouy in 40 knots, slightly mad

Lots of photos from today at East Beach.
The morning started with strong winds, big swell and a grey sky. It looked more appealing after lunch with the sun out but the wind was very gusty
It was definitely a fun day up north.

I hope that these pictures will inspire your adventurous side and you come and shred at Bakers Beach next time.
Perfect cross-off down the line conditions all day long. Wave after wave after wave.... Not much different to a sail at Bluff Beach on the west coast.
Claire hung out in the wind and took some great shots.

It is always good to have some new faces and new talent on the water Dan. Don't be a stranger. We'll count you from now on as one of the Northern Wavesailing Contingent.

With a little luck we might get back to the normal cycle this year of some Greens Beach (west Tamar) north-westerlies, which would be closer to home for you, and also mixes up the conditions beyond the standard cross-on B and J.

Looks like a great session at Bakers. It was hard for us to justify the drive down there but it seems to deal with the high tide better than East.

Here are a couple of extra photos, I think the Goya sail is Dan.
