Yes Jay, Tuesday arvo. 4 of us sailed up on the other side of the Palais. Tiny bit more beach there and a bit more sideshore.

Bondy, You seem to be having much more fun than some of us - could see you looping over the jetty from where I was 1 km up wind

How was it getting onto the beach at end of day with high tide?Last time I was there - it was covered with mounds of weed at the water line (on a calm day)....and does the ribbon weed become an issue Sems-Nth Haven during winter? ...or not because wave fins don't catch any. (or boards are always airborne

Not optimal Fishmint. The swell wasn't that big, but the rip was like a swollen river crossing. It was good fun until a kiter was in my gybing line on the inside (not his fault), so tacked, got dumped, the rip took me and I was gone baby, gone. The wind died and that ended my session. What you said about small swept back wave fin is largely true, but nothing beats a weedwave fin in the s* we are dealt with (one less thing to worry about). Yeah, the gulf is bad for weed. Most of the year. "Bondy's weed mountains"

I was lucky Clive, was able to snag an early finish and get down there to for a sail. Wasn't too bad but the huge tide swallowed up the waves.

Thanks Clive. Got about 45 mins worth of sailing on 3.7 till wind dropped out and i got dragged on the inside, about 10 meters from the beach, from sems down the the jetty. Diddnt matter how hard you tried to get onto the beach it wasn't gonna happen. I could see Anthony wading back to the sems south carpark, not too far from it, about a km up the beach form me, wishing that was me, and Bondy sailing at the Palais just on the other side of the jetty where i managed to get onto the beach, wishing i'd sailed there with him after just having seen him at sems south before i went out.
Anyway after an all too familiar walk back up the beach, wind came back but not as strong and got a sail on 4.5.
Another happy ending.

Emptying the sand from your jocks + 1km beach walk, you wouldn't have it any other way
