Not windsurfing related, well actually I guess it is. Wanting to get a non remote door key cut for the VZ Commy to lock ignition keys in car while out windsurfing. Problem is local locksmiths don't have the $15000 dollar machine to do it. Does anyone know where I can get one cut Adelaide metro, pref northern suburbs.

My local Mr Minit cut one for my VYII a few years back - I used it on a cord just the key to deadlock the doors.

There's a few locations on the Mr Minit website at Elizabeth, Ingle Farm, Golden Grove, westLakes - with their phone numbers - it cost around $8 back about 5 years ago

The locksmith at Tea Tree Plaza cut one for a my VX about a year ago. What I have done with my keys is unscrew my spare key fob and take just the key part out. I have an elastic cord connecting it my harness and it lives in the harness pocket.

The locksmith in City Cross in the the city do them. Their prices are really good too because there are lots of locksmiths in the city. To give you an idea it cost about $8 to get a standard key cut at one of those places in a shopping centre. I got the same thing done in the city for $4.50.

Bunnings cut keys too. Not sure if they can do that type though.

Don't want to spend those dollars so I've separated the blade from my spare remote key and attached a lanyard. Did set the alarm off once when I was testing, not sure what happened there.)

Don't try and start the car with it, but to open the door, cheap and easy. don't get it done at Bunnings, machines are always out of whack and the key doesn't work.
