In 2019 the isonics received a significant increase in volume. When I bought mine in 2016 the medium board was the 107 at 71cm wide. Now the equivalent medium board at 72cm is 123lt! Does anyone have any experiences to share regarding that change? How does the increased volume affect the overall performance (especially in rough conditions) and board feel?

i had the isonic 107 2015, isonic 107 2017 and now 2019 isonic 72.

the isonic 72 handles chop excellent.
I ride it with the straps max to the front and max to the back.
You get a very secure stance and can just keep on pushing thru the chop.
I have been out in 32-34 knots vind and that was the limit for me with 7.0.
Very plug and play and you will not notice the extra volume.
Compared the 2015 and 2017 it has a better release.

Got mine as a warranty replacement towards the end of our season last year so haven't had a huge amount of time on it but first impressions is that all the extra volume they added between the 2018 and 2019 models is in the back end so still quite controllable. But you do have to ride the board from the back, especially when coming out of jibes and first getting onto the plane.
