I think, unless I am mistaken, the brand in some form was involved in windsurfing in the 1980s producing the wooden boards back then from a Mandurah factory. There was a retailer who sold the boards in Cottesloe in the late 1980s.
YES Bert was based in WA where he was born ,their huge factory is now in Thailand ,
Up until a year ago all their SUPs came with mast tracks ...Tino the CEO of sunova is a crazy windsurfer and foiler .
Their boards are really tuff ...and you can get any custom paint job or measurements you want to order .in feet or metric .

I have not brought a windsurfing board off them yet ...but thinking of a custom ..
