From Starboard 2018 catalog:

"new Carbon L.C.F. construction designed for the lowest weight but also the lowest carbon footprint "

So, basically is this wood construction that I'm paying for??

I think it's a load of crap.
After finishing a board I was amazed and alarmed on how much rubbish was produced.
I know these guys would streamline production costs , and therefore waste but it would still be a far cry from being a green tree hugging thing to produce . Sounds good though.

It seems like a few of the companies are starting to offer boards that use Bio resins and Flax/wood/Bamboo as part of the construction. The savings seem relatively small but at least the move towards quantifying the C02 produced in production is a good thing. However unlike driving an old car which might consume large amounts of fuel compared to the latest model an old windsurfer is a carbon free form of transport.....just need the council to start installing canals next to the bike lanes :-]
