The S2Maui wave sails are among the lightest waves sails you can get. About the same weight as the Severne Pro's. Also the feeling is very light. Due to the material the sails are also very durable. My oldest Dragon is 4 years old, no problems so far.

I sail by them all the time with 1998 sails.
Robbie Naish in 1984 sails waay better than me using his 1984 gear.
And he sailed waaaay better than you.

Wow! You can judge a sail by sailing by it! Impressive!!!!! And you have very detail and subtle judgment: everything works! Interestingly you get very precise when it comes to dates. Nothing works before 1998, although if you are Robby Nash it does with a 1984 sail. Bravo!

It's not just the vintage.
In 1986, we were tuning Gaastra Speed and Race foils sails with softer than recommended masts and reversing the top 2-3 battens according to wind speeds for each sail.
Bigger riders used tubular battens on 3 and 4, some guys totally removed the leech lines. A few cut the leech from head to 2nd batten and re sewed to look stock.
Those modified sails did not perform anything near the stock bricks we were given. They'd come close to sails made today.
Today...1995 Gaastra Course Slalom Pro 6.0 and going faster than anything in the water...of guys with slalom or fast freeride gear. Stock sail, no mods.
