Used to use Titanium coated rubber lined thermal rash vests for winter and sail with a springy through summer as sailing in a rash vest would stuff up my neck and shoulders (they're stuffed) with wind chill.

Got a long sleeve Polypro Thermal rashy and holy sheet!!! no siezed shoulders and neck, no overheating (in summer) if I didn't fall in as used to happy with previous thermal or spring suit.

Absolute winner going to be awesome this winter.

Other revelation was NPX Sailing boardies, used to hate sailing with boardies as they would continually get tangled on my pigeon legs.

It seems they don't come in ladies sizes.
Do they think ladies are too soft for watersports in winter?

Are these polypro rashies any different to polypro thermal underwear? That stuff has been around for decades and can be bought cheaply at any outdoors shop.

Polypropylene is polypropylene. I've been using the cheap thermal tops under a wettie for years. (in winter, that is) Trust a surfing wear company to put their logo on one and double its price.

I bought a polypro thermal rashie as recommended, thanks IRL.
Yes they are different to polypro underwear in appearance (The rashie looks like a rashie from the outside with a fleecy inner layer, whereas the thermals look like knitted underwear)
I tried it yesterday, and admittedly the weather wasn't cold, but I could certainly feel the extra warmth. Looking forward to testing it in a winter front.
It looks and feels good too. I might even use it as standard winter underwear!

What brands sell long sleeve polypro vests in Australia? I went to the Rip Curl and Quiksilver websites. Neither list a polypro vest as far as I could find. I'm not sure about Rip Curl though as their product descriptions are more along the line of "harden up ya weak mongrel if ya more than this"than anything that really describes what the product is.

The wind is looking good for this Saturday but its going to be cold!

After I ordered mine I found a west one in a surf shop.
You might try looking under polyfleece lycra - same thing.
