Well, the Slalom VI's have finally arrived after travelling all over the country, apparently we need to thank Mr. P. himself for getting them here before a little race this weekend, I thought I'd share and be the first to provide a review.
With the hot day, we were fortunate to get enough sea-breeze and I was able to take the 7.8 and the SL 76 for a cruise between Trigg and Hillary's this afternoon.
My first impression of the board was the silky ride and an amazing ability to change direction - I don't think I've been on a board of this size, particularly in the ocean, that is so controllable, doesn't seem to slap, especially downwind, and is yet so nimble. This then translates into a really smooth, stress free gybe - all good!! Couldn't comment on relative speed as I was out there by myself, but it felt pretty good..............
The raised deck profile under the footstraps seems to work quite effectively and my first impression would concur that this must add to the overall comfort level, especially over longer distances.
Quality appears to be the usual high level, although I'd imagine damage to the deck would be hard to repair because of the complicated graphics - just don't ding it!!
Now looking forward to trying the 65 and the 56.

Cheers
