They suggest not going to the coast to check it out.
No I'm not curious at all. Trouble about tsunamis is you never know what size fins to put in.

"Estimating the depth of the wave's water column to be around four kilometers on average, Roger Bilham, a professor of geological sciences at the University of Colorado, calculated that at mid-ocean, the mass of water would be hurtling toward Hawaii at 200 meters per second, or 720 kilometers per hour (446 mph).

"Mid-ocean, the wave is travelling at around the speed of a jet plane," Mr Bilham said.

"The amplitude of the wave is small when it's mid-ocean, but it may rise to five to 10 meters when it reaches Japan or the Philippines," he said.

Its high tide aswell, so we may end up with a 4metre high tide.
Ive still got the security videos from the geraldton port authority somewhere, with footage of the boxing day tsunami. Nothing major really happened there, just a couple of boats sunk in there pens.

My tsunami contingency plan : Wherever my boat washes up, thats where I'll live. Hopefully somewhere nice up on Manly Hill there....

^^^ Tsunami didn't show. Who's a lucky little fish :)

I would have thought that a better plan would be to head for deeper water.
Was there a lot of boat traffic out of the harbour today?
