Lake Keepit is the go but whether there is anyone else out windsurfing with you I don't know. Windsurfing was popular there in the 80s but whether there is anyone doing it now there I'm not sure. There are not many Seabreeze members from around there. There is/was one from Quirindi though. The lake should be quite full right now.

I grew up at Barraba just north of Tamworth but used to sail in the 1990's up there.
We used to sail/camp at Chaffey Dam which is 30mins towards Dungowan but the wind is unreliable.
Also at Split rock dam which is just out of Manilla(about 45mins north).
Sailed at Keepit a few times but more skiing boats to contend with.
I guess the good thing with dams is you can get cross shore somewhere as long as you can get access the most spots around the dam.
The main disadvantage is the wind is usually gusty and unreliable.
Not sure if many people sail up there anymore, maybe a few?
Find a friend that owns a ski-boat as waterskiing is awesome up there,and take the windsurfer as a backup if the wind comes through, then save your holidays and head across to the coast to port stephens/port macquarie/Woolgoolga/Newcastle.

I learned to sail at keepit dam, i have also sailed goran too.
Whatever type of sailing you do you can find a part of keepit to suit, In my years of sailing there i have seen some awsome bump and jump conditions from right in front of the caravan park when its on, its ON.
Especially now the dam is full it is prime for some great sailing, havnt seen it full for so many years! Watch out for submerged fences and other obsticles in Goran though, best to check with people who have local knowledge of that lake.
I would be keen to do a weekend trip to keepit if conditions are forcast to be epic, have to check my bearings on the lake i cant remember the wind direction for the best conditions.

I was at Keepit this week with my dad. No wind but the lake has plenty of water in it. Its absolutely huge right now! On Monday we were at Moree and it was quite windy there in the afternoon. Definatley would have been on the plane if there is anywhere to sail around there. Perhaps on an irrigation dam.
