I'm happy there is ample parking on all but the busiest days. For Sydney this is a blessing in itself and much better than how it used to be at Bestic Street.
Yes the paths are an issue. Could we approach the Rockdale Council about it? An easy way to make the path more walkable would be to dump sand over the timber. the path is easier to walk on down the botton where sand is blowing over the path. One has to wonder why the paths are so narrow as well. If its to stop vehicles driving down the path perhaps some bollards could be installed.
The lack of fresh water is a bit of a bugger and kind of ironic considering who built the park.
Shade? Well the place is about 3 years old now so we can't expect huge trees giving us shade can we? The bushes planted don't look like they will give much shade.

Why is there no path directly to the beach? Both paths off to the side are difficult at best....Such a good spot though, especially since the jet skis don't go there on mass.
I made the mistake of taking the kids to South Kyeemagh on Sunday, but my wife refused to let the kids in the water because of the sheer number of crazy jet ski's zapping around everywhere. It is only a matter of time until someone gets killed!
Is Botany Bay the only place Jet Ski's are not banned? If so why?

Worse still are the unprotected star pickets supporting the wire fencing along the pathway to the beach. On Saturday I saw a sail getting holed by one of these as it was being carried up the path.

The pathway is a nightmare!
this place is mainly used by windsurfers, who else would use a noisy beach with freeway and airport pollution. if it wasn't for the good wind we would be somewhere else as well.
they should set it up for the community that uses the space.
we should have a clubhouse with a windsurf shop and cafe attached.
and a proper path with start boat/rescue boat access

ha, i love botany, i agree about the pathways, my only concern was those star pickets, going down, ok, but i would un rig coming back through if it was still windy, but like moby said, bestic street was getting pretty full, botany is sweet in a NE, which is usually accomadated by nice weather, so its always gunna have other watercraft, i used to go over the other side of the river, closer to runway, not bad, close to water, a bit of a shadow, dog crap everywhere, but easy access, sweet sess, not as many jetskis in that basic area,,,,,,i think they put time restrictions on the use of jetskis in pittwater, mainly due to noise, living on the central coast, there is plenty of jetskis in lake munmorah, and budgey, personal experience,, botany is the only place were it seems a bit crazy, heaps of them, going crazy fast close to shore and stuff, ha, i dont know, it does seem like an accident waiting to happen,, cmon sunday......and the mighty drug free sea eagles!!!!!
