I was like you when I start in this Jan...I get the board from there for 1500...it was painful.
But I get a JP explorer which is a narrow long board..the so called beginner intermediate board..
If you want to keep the board for long..I recommend you get a 135 jp funstar or jp 145 explorer (I am 60 kg) ...all other beginner board, you won't keep it after 3 months..
I love dagger board even now... I still rely on it if I go upwind...although nowadays 90% of the time I will have NY daggerboard up...I only use the daggerboard for upwind sailing or non-planing conditions
I was looking for shortcut for this sport..unfortunately.. not on the equipment..you will find yourself grow very fast
Hi Ben. I admire your enthusiasm but if that was you at kyeemagh on Sunday with the red & white sail I strongly advise that you become competent at water starting before venturing out in strong gusty winds! There are no short cuts learning to windsurf and most of us that sail in 25++ knots have been sailing for years.
Stay safe and have fun!!!
