Heading to Yamba in a couple of weeks. Considering throwing a board and sail in. Can anyone fill me in on the best sailing spots? Will be camping at the Blue Dolphin which I believe is on the river...

cheers

Hey Corkers,

Try Whiting Beach in NE/N (seabreeze) there is a nice long run behind the middle wall for a flat water sail.
Or Pippi Beach for some waves. Or if you feel like a little drive checkout Frasers Reef or Iluka main beach for some waves.
And then there is Lake Woolaweyah for some blasting around. I only remember the lake locals sailing around out there when I was growing up.

There are a few locals around the place and a few cane toads sneak down to whiting beach when conditions are right.

NE is great - anything else is a struggle - spend time with wife and kids

Launch from Turners beach or whiting beach car parks - can't launch from Blue Dolphin but its a great caravan park for a young family
