Please can someone tell me the best spots to windsurf on the Central Coast. I will be staying probably at Avoca Beach, and have never been to that part of the coast. I will be there from mid December until the beginning February. Thanks.

lake macquarrie is good at belmont bay in a nor-easter and for wave nobby's beach is probably the best bet up here

Thanks for info guys. I sail in the ocean, so wave sailing is my favourite. Is there much wind during December and January?

Hi Dave,

If you like wavesailing, then I suggest that when it is anything southerly you should go to either Toowoon Bay or Ocean Beach, Umina. Just be prepared to be outnumbered by the kiters. Both spots work well in S'lys. Ocean Beach is onshore and Toowoon is cross-shore.

If it is NE'ers you want, then you can try North Entrance, Forresters Beach or even Wamberal, but it does get BIG at Wamberal sometimes. These are all cross-onshore. Usually a few dedicated wavesailors around either venue and we are a friendly lot.

Sailing on Brisbane Waters or Tuggerah Lakes usually needs a weed free fin otherwise you will pick up weed too often. More slalom territory there.
