First time travelling to WA, will spare you the full story in 24 chapters and add a few random tips that hopefully will help others.

- Denham needs a 45 weed fin, it is both choppy and weedy. A delta/fangy will work taking care but will not be exciting. A straight fin will give you 45 seconds of elation followed by heavy swearing
If you have us box push the weed fin all the way forward

What other spots did you sail?

I know that many people love Shark Bay for windsurfing but it never impressed me. I think there are so many other great spots where it's not shallow, extremely weedie, and full of flies, but everyone is entitled to their own preferences I guess.

It is pleasant here in October, weed is not heavy and windy every day but on the light side. My biggest sail is a 6.6 and sometimes its just enough. No mosquitoes and not too many flies. If i had the right fin for the bigger board it would have been more fun. Im going to boo bay next, then corros, cervantes, Mandura area, and finally Albany and Esperance. On the way back want to stop at Stansbury in SA, from what i read it could be an alternative when LG has a bad year.
PS: it is posssible to foil in the little lagoon

Coronation beach:
When you book online corros park will charge you $30 per day, but if you are on your own you only pay $15, and they will adjust when you check in. At the office buy a fly net to wear around your face.
Phone reception for both Telstra and Optus, but you might have to move around a bit. The place is good for everything including foiling.

Space: I managed to carry 4 boards, 9 sails , 3 booms, tent, cooking stuff, commercial quantities of pasta and canned tomatoes, porta potty. Can sleep in the Tarago removing a few boxes, but its hard to windsurf or cook while loaded, always need to remove stuff to reach what i need, and repacking your gear after is a lot harder. So my suggestion is to get a bigger van if you want to move often.

Someone always has a bigger van!

Sounds like fun Georgio. NSW slalom scene has been fun too, but I do miss a good WA road trip.

Keep an eye out for Maciek!

Crossing the Nullarbour:
If you have an Optus network phone there is no coverage between Ceduna in SA and Norseman at the other end. Telstra much better, but not all the time.
Petrol most expensive in Nullarbour , Border village, Madura, Caiguna. Better refuel at Eucla, Ballandonia.
Boards:
Whatever your style you cannot go wrong with a fsw, get a wave and a weed fin for it and will be the most versatile.

Glad you got over there. So many awesome places to play and friends to catch up with. I hope to get back there in my larger van.

Stansbury in SA:
it is a lovely place and the sailing is great: clean water, tidal weed beds , you can sail in small chop and some smooth water.

Then went to LG for 2 great sails with Jamie, and then back home.
Tot 13,000 kms in a bit over 2 months.

We love it too. When it's 20 knots, and just the right tide, the water goes mirror smooth over the sand bar. You sail over it, and it's like you're stationary. Then you look at your wake and realise you are moving pretty quickly. Good fun. Glad to hear about the water state. This place got smashed with the Karen over winter. Are the oyster leases still there ?
