I went for a sail at Shingle Splitters today, A little more wind and few people would have been nice.
I was going OK with a 7m sail. Nice place to gybe behind the point, even did a few duck gybes. A bit more wind there will be some nice chop to play with!

I went to Shingle Splitters as that was were I was directed by earlier posts. Where do you launch at coal point in nor'easter'?
There was only 1 kiteboarder out and he lost his board, no windsurfers!

Splitters is great, have your barby on the SE side but avoid entry there or letting your kids frolick in the water as, (albiet it was around 5 years ago) comming in after a sail I stepped off into about 1 metre depth, onto a plant called Razor Fish; I never did find out how it got the fish part but after realising my foot was bleeding profusely I took a moment to explore the area with my hand. Shock horror, the top of it felt like a axe head, a stem as thick as your thumb, and about 400mm in height. Took ages to heal, not unlike a oyster cut; even some numbness for a while. The week before this happened to me, a Copper from Sydney sailing in the same area, comming in, thrust his hand forward into the water, and needed 18 stitches. Both events appeared in the local rag (Morisset). Solution... entry & exit on the NW side, at the boat ramp, no problems

Are razorfish shellfish? I think they are and are quite good to eat. Previously I read bream eat razorfish and a lack of bream in Lake Mac means more razorfish. Must be a shocker to step on.
