Anyone get out??
Managed a very late couple of quick runs at the lagoon on my way home from work. Chris was already out on big gear and was planing back and forth. Was weird sailing well after the sun had gone down. Then in the space of 5 minutes it went from planeable to absolute glass. Did the walk of shame and packed up by my headlights.

Yep. Was there from 1:00 to 5:30, the 20kt NE gusts settled around 3:30. I had forgotten how summer felt.

I was looking forward to it but didn't enjoy the sail at all. I've got spoilt with flat water.. First time on the big gear ( 125 + 7.2m ) powered up in chop..ugh Got to get the setup right or I won't bother using it ..very uncomfortable.
Coal Pt - sand islands - 10 -15kts in chop c 18kts odd in smaller chop. I used to think the sand islands were flat until I discovered Canton..
I think my problem was the last sail at Canton on the 95 ltre with 3.8m was the best I've had ..ever..? comfortable planing gybes everywhere flat out etc..yesterday was a rude awakening..

Quite the opposite here, I've been training in S at Kyeemagh and W at Kurnell all winter.... It almost felt surreal...

Solid nor-east here today on the mid nrth coast, with a very draining 20-27 knots on Trial Bay. Used my newly aquired 5.7 and was totally over powered. It's hard to stay on the board and gybe on wave faces when doing 20 plus knots in head high surf on your L plates. But all good, learnt heaps and pulled a few gybes off

PS- Gotta say, what a joy to be in shorts and T-shirt again! And to be too hot in a spring suit is gold. Should be in board shorts very soon
