Hi guys,

I am Kirill.
I am new to windsurfing and just about to stand on board.
I've bought used beginner geers recently. Just realised the sail battens are missing. Unfortunately I've lost seller's contacts And can't get them from him.
so I am looking for battens. I attached a few photos of a sail. May be someone has them dusting in his garage.

Thanks in advance.
Kirill

Not only you miss the battens, but also the tensioners. Buying all new will cost you much more than the sail is worth. I can give you the 3-4 shorter ones on top and bottom, usually I sail in Botany at weekends, will send you a message on Friday.

Thanks powersloshin,

I was given a demaged sail and now I have battens. They are slightly longer but I think I can cut them.
My problem now is tensioners. Where can I get them and more important what type do I need?

Any help apreciated.

Best place to get tensioners would be from an old sail....

The top ones need minimum tension, probably you can just cut them a little longer, file a groove accross and lock them with the rope. I should have a few spare for the bottom ones that need more tension. Are you coming to Botany this weekend ?

Kirilli is the seller on seabreeze and did he/she say it was damaged/missing battens? Pretty poor form if they didn't.

Hi BenKirk,

I bought it on Gumtree in June. Tried it only a week ago because of the winter time. Relied on seller's honesty.
He told me that the gear is 'ready to go'. Then I found a missing an extension mast and got him a few bucks back. But I could not even think there should be battens inside sail.

Would like to thank George once again.
He was so generous to share battens with me! Now my sail is ready to go.
