Have read on these forums that you can sail from Rozelle in a NEster - anyone know where... Gettin a bit fed up of the trek to Botany and all the non windsurfing idiots you get down Kyeemagh and Brighton Le Sands..

There is free parking at Rozelle and i have never had a problem finding a space, there is also a grassy area to set your gear up on and BBQ's to burn your burgers. I think NE works best but anything with N in it you should be able to get out.

Are we talking about Rodd Point? Short runs, slimy water and bull sharks.

I assume you mean Rodd Point - Other posters are correct in what they say - but in a good NE'er its not to bad. Tack up a little till your infront of the point and you can have longer runs from Heanly Marine Drive accross to Leichhardt Pool.
Saturdays are full on with Longboard racers and Dingy racing - hard to find a parking spot but its free when you do! Freindly crowd, none of those 'fully sick' dudes around.
Sunday is your best bet weekends and any arvo midweek, twighlight long board racers about on Wednesdays so can get a little busy but not as much as Saturdays.
Don't underestimate this spot its great for a quick fix and the NEer does get a bit of a funnel affect, but will always be about 5 or so knotts less than Kyeemagh.
If the crowd at Kyeemagh is getting to you, Sail Kyeemagh on Saturdays and Rodd point on Sundays, or try the Pond at Narra, but you'll have to part with $$ for parking (from memory) and the runs arn't really any longer than Rodd Point.
Having said that even with the non sailing crowd at Kyeemagh I would find it hard to give up for Rodd Point.

There are three carparks at the Narrabeen pond. The one used in summer, the western one doesn't have a parking meter anymore. The other two have parking meters. I've seen the Pittwater rangers checking out tickets at the northern carpark.

Thanks DavMen will give it a go some time - but I know what you mean Brighton Le Sands, Kyeemagh is still best spot for NEster blasting... Just got to put up with the local beach goers at the weekend...Its never a problem down there in a southerly as they don't come to the beach!

To properly clarify what Mobydisc said.

There is a pay and display carpark on the southern side at Jamieson Park patrolled by Warringah council rangers. Pretty impossible to sail here as the sand banks have built up considerably.
The western carpark works in a nor-east sea breeze and is policed by Warringah council as well. There is no pay and display meter at the moment but like all councils once they figure out they are missing out on money one day it will appear and no warning will be given.
The northern carpark on Wakehurst Parkway is run by Pittwater council. The rangers are totally on it and will fine anyone not displaying a sticker or ticket, no excuses wash!! They usually hit it at least twice a day. Since the playground has been built and all the mums and kids flock to it they make a fortune.

As for pelican itch or sea lice, the last 2 years have been fine. The worst spots seem to be the parkway side and where you launch. Just dont stand around in the shallows.
