The details for this Saturday are;

Regofrom 11am. Make sure you QR register at the door. (Make sure your WNSW membership is up to date - check for your name here Member Register - WindsurfingNSW and talk to your club if you don't appear)

Briefingand course description at 1.15. (Best to be rigged and registered before this!)

Racingfrom 2pm. Three races.

You can enter the series, or the one-day event, by going to http:/www.windsurfingnsw.com/join/ The series entry fee is $160 for adults (including the States at Jervis Bay) or $80 for youth (U20). You have to be double vaccinated to participate at Dobroyd and Round 2 at Jervis Bay on the weekend of 27-28 November. After NSW is 95% vaxxed clubs may still require double vaccination

A couple of small tweaks on the result sheet. Here is the final results for round 1.

Despite the early forecast gale warning conditions, conditions abated somewhat, with southerly winds of 20kn gusting to high 20's. Having the whole of Jervis Bay to build up, the sea state was a a bit exciting. Screaming down 2m wavefronts and finding a spot to gybe was pretty fun. There was a bit of uncertainty about sail choice with the club a bit protected, but the vision of whitecaps further out made most people drop a size. Some came in to drop another after a pre-start test run while others decided it was above their optimum. Luckily the start boat dragged its anchor giving some of us a few more minutes to finalise sail selection.

Then it was off and race 1 was underway with just seven starters, 6 of whom finished the race. The start / finish area was just a short blast from the beach so it was nice to be able to rest between races, although leaving the beach was a little slow and awkward due to the protection of the headland. Race 2 had 5 starters and 4 finishers. Then the race committee got a bit of squall through after the finish and decided that it was a prudent time to call an end to the day's racing.

Results for today's races are below. Tomorrow the forecast is looking good so that we may get 5 races in with 3 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.

The outlook for today was very encouraging, so there was a lot of large sails being rigged. The wind was from the south again with great planing conditions. For the third race the wind picked up abit sending a few back to the club in a self-rescue mode. At the lunch break John was leading narrowly from Jimmy and Nathan. There was a bit of discussion about what sail to use for the last session, a few changed down thinking the wind was increasing but by the time we got back out the wind was similar to the first couple of races of the day. Going into the last race there was 3 sailors in contention for the title.

Winners are grinners, Jimmy got his hands on the trophy with Nathan second and John third.

Just.... a little....further.....think.....I....can....make it...

This Saturday the Series continues at the Illawarra Yacht Club.

Thank you IYC windsurfing crew for a top day yesterday. The annual leave day was well worth it.
Also thanks to the NSW Race boards for allowing us LT's to participate in the event, fun fun with a massive all day.

5 races in a building Nor Easter, great fun, we did 2 races had a lunch break where most people changed down a size for the final 3 races in fast conditions. Here are the results

The NSW Raceboard Series resumes this Sunday 27th Feb, with Round 4 at Palm Beach Sailing Club.

Racing will start at 1030-11am (wind permitting), so we are aiming for a briefing at 10am.

A big vote of thanks to Richard Lacey who has been working hard to make this event a ripper. Richard suggests you aim to arrive at 9am to beat the traffic. He has sought 10 parking passes from Northern Beaches Council, and there is a trailer overflow area that we can use and can accommodate 30 cars close to the rigging area. There will be a parking marshal to point people into the free parking area otherwise its about $35 per day (for Council parking.). Se

We will probably have 4 races back-to-back, so take drinks and snacks out on the water. You can leave water bottles on the club support vessels.

The Sailing club is not serving food so it's recommended that participants bring all their necessities for the day (lunch /water /sunscreen).

For those who want to kick on, Club Palm Beach (formerly the Palm Beach RSL) is nearby for a Fisherman's Basket or a Chicken Parmy after sailing. clubpalmbeach.com.au/ Bistro hours 11:30am - 8:30pm so we should be able to get food after racing, whenever we finish.

Provisional results for the Raceboard Series at Palm Beach Sailing Club. Thanks to all involved for making it happen.

The NSW Raceboard Series continues this Saturday 5th March, with Round 5 at St George Sailing Club.

Racing will start after 2:00pm, we will have 3 races.

The club is running off the beach at the moment during the rebuild so bring your own snacks and refreshments. Allow a bit of time for the walk to the public toilets.

Just over a week to go until the final round of the NSW Starboard Severne Raceboard Series concludes at Saratoga with a weekend of racing and socialising (in a COVID safe way of course).

Briefing on Saturday: 10:30 am
Racing: 11:00 am first possible start.
Sunday Racing: 11:00 am first possible start.

Dinner at the club on Saturday night pay on the night but let us know if you are having any guests join you for dinner.
