Hi FE+ people

After an absence of about two years I'm again thinking about getting back on the course. The new job is working out OK and life is getting back to normal.

My question is, what size sails are you using? If I come back I'll be looking at buying ONE sail to use. While racing before I was on an 11SqM and only sailed in up to about 18 knots. My favorite times were cruising in 6 knots (I wasn't that good in the racing). If I get a (say) 9m race sail do you think this will cover me better than the "Go big or go home theory"?

I have a Starboard 161 board, X9 carbon boom (270cm) and a 60% 520 mast (with 50cm extender) although I'd probably look into a matching mast too.

Any advice is welcomed but remember, ONE sail...

As Dave said dependent on your size 10.7/11 would be the one to get, I'm 90kg and use the 10.7 most of the time.

are you back in Newport Jethrow?

i did a couple of seasons with a 10.7 only, like any one rig setup it can be tricky, but its manageable. If you can get your hands on a good fin it will make a world of difference upwind & more so in down wind comfort, the board doesn't dig the nose in like it does with the drake. I think Rick is selling a VMG K70 which is what i use in my 161.
When you get your rig sorted come out for a bash at taylors point..
