Hi,

Jordans operate in Port Mac. They have been involved with windsurfing for a long time, probably close to 30 years or more. They are on the river at Settlement City. Nice people to deal with and they know a lot.

What sort of windsurfing are you into? If you are into waves there are heaps of beaches around there but your biggest issue will be finding someone to sail with. If you are into flat water then there is the Hastings river. There are some salt water lakes down near Lauiton. If you want a combo of both then South West Rocks is not that far away and its one of the best windsurfing spots in NSW.

Thanks for that, really prefer the flat speed type sailing.

I've never been there but I've heard good things about the river at Yamba and it's not that far from Coffs.

Geoff,

Yamba is about a 3 hour drive from Coffs and Coffs is a quick 2 hour drive from Port Macquarie.

For flat water the best place at Port Macquarie is the river. Because the Hastings River winds around a fair bit there is bound to be somewhere you can sail and get a longer run than just going from one side to the other. Queens Lake down at Lauriton is okay, its very big and there is a good launch area there on the south side.

Wineman has identified Stuarts Point as having an excellent reach of about three kms in a North Easter. That would be over an hour and a half drive from Port Macquarie.
