Well today was a cracking Southerly consistently at 30knots. Many regulars out hammering the speeds in difficult condition well done to you guys. I got to Botany Bay early thinking ill give it a go before the Southerly kicks in but as i got there the wind started so I opted out, was worried I would break equipment or break myself and be stuck in the middle so went for a MTB instead. Well that didn't turn out well either.


Has anyone else ever experienced nearly blacking out sailing or MTB.

I really got to thank the three guys who help me today, if no one crossed my path I would still be lying there out cold.

I can only watch from the shore and admire his ability, Julian is in the elite squad. I haven"t seen the bay with that type of wind swell for many years.
Todays wind will be a more accessible to sail for us non elite. See you on the water.

I was sailing off Barrenjoey in a 41 footer in the first part of that southerly!
Got it cranking on swells up to 9.8kts, given hull speed is 8.3kts.

Wineman, that photo is fantastic it deserves to be on a wall somewhere either the pool room or the yacht club. Running down a wave will certainly shake the cobwebs off.

DavMen, yes all good now. wow your adventure make my day in the sun a mere scratch hope your ribs came good. Its amazing that biking accidents more so then not result in some body damage. Hopefully we wont be in this position again.
