A small turnout for the start of the series, but still good racing in a southerly at DAC for those that turned up.

Expectations are high for the next round of the Raceboard series as we were not able to get any raceable conditions at Palm Beach but it is a nice place to hang around the beach! So this Saturday we will be joining the Illawarra fleet at IYC.

Racing: Not before 1100, up to 5 races (no more than 3 back-to-back) If you haven't already, go to www.windsurfingnsw.com/join/ to enter or bring cash on the day. It's $35 for the day, half price for youth.

IYC is a fenced facility and a licenced club under the NSW Liquor and Gaming regulations. IYC Windsurfers request that visiting Windsurfers enter the IYC Grounds via the Eastern Gate and park as directed by Parking Marshalls on the perimeter of the Rigging Lawn so as to keep the designated parking areas free of windsurfer's cars to maximise available parking for the licenced club patrons who will arrive later in the day. The gates to the IYC's grounds are generally opened by the club staff at 8.30 each day

Access to upper level of the club is controlled by club staff and normal licenced club entrance requirements apply, ie visitors show photo ID and are signed in. Wetsuits and windsurfing attire are not permitted to be worn in the upper level of the club.

A Snack Servery (coffee cake pies and the like) operates upstairs in the club from 9 am. The Bistro Lunchtime Menu is available from 12 noon until 3 pm.

The next round of the series is also the Raceboard State Championship and is on this weekend at the Jervis Bay Sailing Club be ready to go by briefing at 11:30 on Saturday you can registers earlier or do it on line at www.windsurfingnsw.com/join/

The NSW Raceboard State championship was held over the weekend at the Jervis Bay Sailing Club at Callala Bay we were all looking forward to Saturdays forecast NE'er. It came in early and built up quickly so no one rigged larger than and 8.5 with many going smaller. They were able to set a course for us across the mouth of Callala Bay which gave us a great racing are with pretty flat water. John Doolan was leading the way in race 1 only to be pipped at the post by Jimmy Levy on the finish line after a blasting run where he sailed fast but with more depth to just get though on the pin ahead of John at the boat end. We did one session with 3 races first up with the wind in the low 20kn range after a break we went back for another go and the wind had got up a little more with the gusts heading towards 30kn. Jimmy showed consistent form to win all 4 races ahead of John and Richie. The increasing conditions took a bit of a toll on the fleet and we called it a day after 4 races. We shared the race course with the Foil crew who zoomed around us. Many thanks to Berowne for being our random roving camera man.

Sundays forecast wasn't so great, 20kn westerly which was well over that by 9am so it was pretty obvious from early on there was not going to be any racing. Looking out over Jervis Bay it just looked white. So we had a quick presso awarding the State Championship to Jimmy Levy, 2nd John Doolan and 3rd Richie Reynolds.

The NSW Starboard Severne WSS Raceboard Series continues this Saturday as we converge on St George Sailing Club along with the foiling fleet.

We're looking at doing three races, with the first race Warning Signal at 14.10. Briefing at 1pm. You can register online here www.windsurfingnsw.com/join/, if you aren't already enrolled in the series.

Looking ahead, the series will conclude at Saratoga Sailing Club on March 18th and 19th.

The points table for the series so far looks like this, but a lot can change with 2 rounds to go and drops to come in.

Day 1 at Saratoga, Sunny Late Nor Easter came in. First race was non planing but after that there was good areas of pressure with the occasional lull. Lots of action throughout the fleet with Richie and John sharing the wins. Lissa rounded to the top mark in first place in Race 2, Richie took Christophe out on a screaming reach on race 2. James Luffman was getting into the mix but took himself out with a toe crushing catapult in race 3.
