Hi Windsurfers,
Summary of the Traveller Series.
Great work by all the windsurfers who took part, great sailing by all.
Yesterday was a competitive, fun sailing day at Narrabeen Lakes, hosts this time were NL Sailing Club windsurfer fleet.
There was a warm-up race, followed by a long race to complete the series. Dave West was a stand-out for the day, with close competition throughout the 40 minute race by all. Steve Newman was showing great speed too.
We even had a new NLSC member, Thomas from the Czech Republic, who is in the NLSC Saturday morning Learn to Windsurf group, competing in only his third race. Likewise Justin F. They both did well. Big smiles all round.
Wind swung round a bit more easterly before the races. Average wind-speed and maximum varied for each of the four laps. For example 6knot average first lap, maximum 19knot gusts by lap 4. Wind steadied at a stronger level for a while after the race, just so we could say the usual things, like 'if only...'.
Well done to the Winners of the Overall Series.First -
