On the back of the fantastic success of the Slalom States this past wk end, a reminder that round 3 of the NSW Formula Series is scheduled for this wk end, Saturday the 28th November.(Sunday as a back up if forecast no good)

Sign on and rego will most likely be in the regatta room at Georges River Sailing Club with the course being set just NE of Towra Point. This gets us out of the river channel and an outgoing tide, in flatter water and we can rest in between races in the shallows just off the point on the beach there.

Change of location for Formula racing on Saturday.(Heat #3 of the Formula Series)

Due to a large Dragon boat event at the club and in view of the awesome looking NE forecast, racing will be from the Ramsgate Beach car park just off The Grand Parade.(the old spot) Please note the first entrance to the car park coming from the Airport is now the only entrance spot.

The course will be off the beach & in the Bay. Briefing & sign on in the car park from 11.00 & no racing before 12pm. (Saturday confirmed)

Thanks James & Brett; yes that forecast pretty much sets up a Botany Formula race track as good as it gets. A great opportunity to trial slicks verses treads even!
In short, it'd great to see as many Formula devotes as can be mustered tomorrow.

After a latish start due to some unforeseen boat issues at the Club, Heat 3 of the Formula Series got of to a flying start in the early afternoon in a building norester. With the exception of Brett Morris, all sailors rigged 9s & 10mt sails to tackle the ENE breeze, which was gusting 20 knots and accompanied by the customary Botany chop.

We ran 3 quick successive races with Brett being rewarded for taming the bigger rig. Whilst experimenting at one stage with his new North 9.6 Slalom toy, he scored 3 bullets for the day. His consistency over the previous heats may have cemented him another Series win for 2015/16, with just one heat to run at Lake Macquarie on the 9th of January. Congratulations to Brett and a big thanks to all the sailors for attending, especially Tibor & Bruce for trekking down the freeway on consecutive wk ends. Be nice to see breakfast being served from the backs of your vans on the next one please gents, perhaps Rick could bring the eggs?

Cheers also to Andrew McLauchlan & GRSC for the event. Results will be posted in the next day or so.

All is not lost however and so for the trophy hunters amongst us, have no fear, because we have the Nationals(2016 Downunder Pro) on Botany on the 28th to 30th of January, followed shortly there after by the 2016 Formula State Titles at Husskison on the wk end of the 13th of February.
