have fingers crossed, took the risk and packed up this morning so hopefully there will be enough at long reef to sail. sure looks like plenty west for rest of wekend!
Holy s&^@ what a way to end the week. Fully lit on a 4.7, 3/4 mast surf doesn't get any better! NO idea where that swell came from, yesterday it was lucky to be 0.5 ft.
3/4 mast??? Where did you go sailing today? I have just checked every single cam from Bondi to Shoalhaven Heads but couldn't a see a single break with more than a meter of surf let alone over 3 meters...
Stehsllgooglia. Jam ya cams up ya bum.. I am pretty sure these southcoast blokes know what they are on about. They would have either sailed Corrimal or Gerroa and I'm prety sure they would of had sum swell. An intense fricken low just passed NSW which would have pulsed sum ****en swell. i know u live in ****hole Sydney but outskirts are getten the wind and waves... a good mate of mine who i can trust said Gerroa was goin orrfff with Swell and (as u would say it) VIND....!!! [}:)]
East corrimal, pretty open beach so it picks up any swell really well. Looked like it had a fair bit of south in it, so like Peto said Gerroa would have been working well too...Although it was fully lit 4.7 weather here....hate to think what it was there haha.
I'd say the average wave size was head high+, every 15 min or so you'd get a few 3/4 mast bombs..which on the last wave of the day resulted in a ragdoll to 2 min swim, good times.
guys, guys... not trying to diss anyone here... just trying to figure out were people get the swell. As I said I checked Wanda Cam and saw some people surfing but the swell didn't look that big... also checked Shoalhaven Heads cam... it was windy but swell also didn't seem that big... hence why I asked.
Gerroa was 1/2 to 3/4 mast. Corrimal would have been the same or abit bigger. Wind was stronger up this way CJW. Gerroa was good but only 20knots, warilla was 25-30 when I went down.
