Well for those that braved the lousy forecast and turned up to a great weekend of racing congratulations. To those that put their faith in the forecasters, WHY?
The weather was perfect, the wind slightly less than perfect at 8 -10 knots plus but great for close racing.
Great racing in the Formula ranks with 4 different winners on Saturday and 3 different winners on Sunday. Congratulations to Byron McIlveen for giving the new Point 7 sails their first race win down under and first regatta win, I think. Close behind was Steve Walshe follow by the Grand Master. Also a well done to Bruce Healey for a 1st place on Sunday, the only Neil Pryde win in the Formula division all weekend.
In the Formula Experience ranks a new guy at Marmong Ben Turner, looks like he is about to take over where Tristan left off last year and become the one to beat. Barry Fawkes returned from injury after his tummy tuck and put in a solid performance to take out the event with Ben close behind.
Thanks to all the competitors for ignoring the forecast and turning up. Also our commiserations to all competitors for their muscle soreness. 7 races back to back is a bit much this early in the season, but good practice anyway.
Thanks to Nev and Brian for doing the really hard stuff and manning the boat.
Cheers GeoffS
