Back from Lake Macquarie yesterday. Only had a couple of sails due to family committments etc. First day out was a bit of a disaster physically and mentally. Went for a cruise in our boat at lunchtime first day over past Pulbah Is to Myuna Bay to check out some skiing spots and just near Pulbah came across a 6/7 ft Hammerhead cruising along!

.
Didn't end up skiing and with a cracker of a Noreaster in the arvo went out from Cam's Wharf only to find I was overpowered with a 5.5 and overfinned. Some horrendous catapults and the further south you get the bigger the swell so after many waterstarts (and freaking out that there was potentially a Hammerhead in the area) I called it quits. Had my wife nearby in the boat and picked me up at which point I promptly vomitted all of Lake Macquarie that I had swallowed during the so-called session I just had. Probably the most humiliating time I've ever had on the water.

Went out in the Southerly that hit on Thursday but this time was underpowered. Would have been nice woth a 6.5 as it's cross on-shore at Cam's Point. Ain't it the way when your confidence takes a hammering.
Saw some guys having a great time just Nth of Toronto in the middle of the bay on a nice Southerly but don't know where they launched from.
Next time I guess.
Actually will be at Corlette (Nelson Bay - Next to the Anchorage Resort and opposite side of the bay to Winda Woppa) at the end of Jan.
Anyone sailed off Corlette/Bagnalls Beach????
