Hi There. Welcome.

1. If you want safe and friendly and flat to begin with, launch from the Illawarra Yacht club and Sail up into the small bay towards the King St Warrawong Shopping strip.

2. One you've cut your teeth and want some longer, bumpier runs Combined with a short stretch of flat water for bearaways, launch at Berkeley Jetty and run across to Primbee Jetty or vice versa.

3. For a fully-committed bump and jump run, launch from Kanahooka Sailing Club and run across to the sandbars at the lakes entrance at Windang and return. (Can't launch on the Winding side).

No weedies required unless you want to push deep into the super flat shallows behind the Primbee Jetty.

dezza if your going to traveling from gerroa sanctuary pt isn't a lot further to travel and the n/easter is a bit more reliable , your other option while there is enough water is wollumboola , gav and I had a blast in the last n/easter , the main problem is getting back to the launching area it's directly up wind

Dezza im not sure if the 20min saved in travel is compensation , don't get me wrong illawarra is a great to sail in a westerly but that's about it , tricky dicky travels down to sanctuary point from bulli , aneeble comes from Wollongong , formular makes the trip from botany, craig is coming down tomorrow from Sydney , MT lives at gerroa and sails sanctuary point
yes your slalom board will be a handful in the chop in the middle at sanctuary but the further north you go from the ramp the less chop and the wind strength can drop off a bit as well, so basically if you were getting hammered sailing strait out from the ramp you can sail up towards old Errol bay and the water is flatter and less chop, ill talk to you soon and give you the drum

dezza the extra 20 min on Monday would have been time well spent , here's a quick vid of one run down the speed strip on Monday , I was a bit under done on a 5/8 and only managed 29knts peak speed but it will give you an idea of how flat sanctuary point is on a huge n/easter, as it seams the wind didn't get into illawarra and if it does its gusty and choppy

Ok that looks pretty good, I will make the trek on a NE day and see for myself. Of course sanctuary point has it's other advantages worth 20 mins extra drive - hot showers in the ladies, and the takeaway shop up the road.

do many gps sailors hang up the gps this time of the year and head to the coast? I saw one or two gustbusters at gerroa yesterday

Nice map eckas I would add the old noreast run from tallawarra power station to mt warrigal which was very popular in the 80s although it doesn't get any use these days only for historical reference.
