Hello all,
I am very keen to get into windsurfing around the Newcastle area. I have no idea where to start though, my dad used to be a pretty serious windsurfer around 15 years ago, so all the gear is seriously outdated and used, but i'm hoping it will still at least get me off the mark.
There are heaps of boards, sails, masts and booms in my shed, but not sure what goes with what. I am around 6ft, 80kg and fit/athletic, what sort of sizes for everything do I need to be looking at?
I know the very basics of windsurfing, I did it a few times as a kid, do I just jump in the water around Lake Macquarie and have a shot and try and learn that way? Or do you recommend finding someone who knows that they are doing, (pref not an expensive lesson as i'm a uni student!)
Any help or advice would be appreciated,
Thanks in advance

I should mention that the club is on George St, Marmong Point. Just around the corner from the marina.

We have a regatta on next Saturday so may not be sailing there. Should be back the following Saturday. Cheers.
