Gday everyone,

Just a reminder that this weekend sees the NSW Formula Series kick off at beautiful Hawks Nest.

Entry is just $40 for the weekend, and with Free Formula and Open fleets (+raceboards) there will be plenty of opportunities to get on the water no matter what your skill level. A couple of nice nor-easters in the forecast should also make for some great sailing.

The schedule for the weekend is:

Saturday
10-10:30 Registration
10:30 Briefing
11:00 First possible start

Sunday
10:30 Briefing
11:00 First possible start

Last time I checked there was still plenty of great accommodation up there available for the weekend. Google "Hawks Nest Holiday Rentals" and you will see all the links.

Look forward to seeing a big turnout for the first event of the new season!

Just a small correction. Entry fee for the 2 day events is $50, not $40.

If you're planning to do the whole 6-race series, you can pre-pay online at:

Just looked at the wind for the weekend up at Newcastle and it is 15-20knot NE both days...Heading up tomorrow for some family time (practice).

PS, Love the photo you used above. Clearly showing myself and Chris Ting showing Steve Allen how to start!

Well done and a big thank you to Marmong Windsurfing Club for a great wk end of racing this long wk end. In the end only three races and in some pretty challenging conditions on the Saturday, but some great racing was had none the less. We waited patiently for the NEster to kick in as forecast on Sunday, but when the sea breeze eventually did come, it wasn’t to last and with the race eventually abandoned. With only the tide to contend with on the sail home back to shore, the current got the better of few of us who inadvertently managed to explore some of the more secluded parts of the Port Stevens coast line! Lots of SUPing and family fun on the beach was had by all however on what was a pristinely beautiful day in the end.

Preliminary results below with a massive thanks to Lewis for manning the binoculars and recording these for us, again in some pretty challenging conditions.

Nice weekend. Would have liked some light wind racing but it was time to wrap it up.
I sped home for the second half of the NRL, James Graham what a animal! entertaining :-)

Such a great weekend. I forgot how special Hawks Nest is.
Great to have the RaceBoards there and to see all the new and old faces doing battle.
Really enjoyed the practice days and especially the racing.

Pretty cool to see so many kids enjoying the event also....Thanks to Marmong crew...Excellent effort running the event.
