Nearly lunch time. Wasn't going to do a photo/ report today due to the fact that it looked flat flat flat and it was still still still this morning. It's 11:30 am at the moment and the Seabreeze has sprung into action. Very light but none the less there seem to be a few whitecaps here and there. Let's see.

Not much in the wave department. Might quickly drive down to the Heads over lunch for a quick look and will report back.

Tomorrow should be a repeat of today albeit with more wind... probably enough for a slide around with a big sail/ board. Then on Thursday we should see another Southerly that might deliver the goods for Windang. I am going to send out some positive vibes in the hope it won't be a sad repeat of the Southerly we saw last week.

Hello Mister Stehsegler.

Would it be possible, kind sir, that, with the help of your good friends at Wind, Surf nSnow, that you may be able to organise a WebCam, which will save you from having to take all these photos that you so graciously post on this forum on a regular basis.

Thanking you

working on it already...

... still building a rig and waiting for some parts to arrive so I can mount it with a clear view of the break. This will probably also include wind speed and direction.

Stay tuned...

forgot to mention... the wind ended up getting up to about 12 or so knts. and waves ended up in the 2 to 3 foot range. I went out for a quick sail around 4pm but it mostly a cast of dogging out and catching a wave on the way in. Not great but better than sitting in the office and working.

I was told it was quite a bit better around 2 pm. Looking at the weather for tomorrow I'd say we should get similar conditions with a little bit more wind. Report to come first thing tomorrow morning.

PS: For anyone driving down this way please drive carefully on the stretch between Kiama and Gerringong. We have had a number of serious accidents in the past few weeks... a serious accident happened late this afternoon with a P plater ramming into another car. Not sure of the details but the P platers car was in pretty bad shape.

My hero! Shoalhaven webcam whilst 'adequate' isn't maintained that well and as a consequence is usually covered in salt spray.

Just a little warning to Stehsegler. Gerroa can get extremely crowded in Summer, post the reports at your own risk of crowding. Last few years on days when the sets come every 10 minutes or so it can be hard to get a wave with all the windsurfers out, dodging the long boarders, bunny hoping the backpackers learning to surf, swimmers etc.

Now I am in canberra your reports are very welcomed, but it will get frustrating for you, when everyone arrives to Gerroa. Alot of the times people wouldn't know that its on unless you posted the report.

Anyway, keep them coming this summer but I'll be back next summer so you can stop then

yup... the surf school is already starting to sh.t me. Not sure why they have to go out smack in the middle of the beach. I might have to have a chat with the guy tht owns it. The instructors haven't been very responsive.

You are probably right as far as crowds on the weekends are concerned. So far though it's been quite the opposite. I have had about 5 days which would have been epic if it wasn't for the lack of other people out on the water. To be quite frank, I don't like my chances of having a retiree looking out their window as the only backup should something go wrong... that's in a big Southerly or SW btw.

Last season I had quite a few fun sails at the Heads with no one else out while people piled into a lake like Gerroa...

When you compare the numbers of surfschool punters, general swimmers ,and longboarders I don't think the numbers of sailors is going to be the problem. You should speak to waz about the conditions the surfschools are allowed to operate under, interesting details that are very handy to know.
