Nothing major in the wave department this morning but still better then nothing. The wind was hard at it yesterday. Naturally I had to work. On baby watch this morning so will need to sneak a photo in a little later.

Wind should be in the 25 knt range again but there is quite a bit of humidity so we might see some thunderstorm activity in the afternoon. If you are planning on a trip down the coast make sure you check the breaks further north (Peggies / Warrila). They had plenty of wind yesterday as well and the Nor'East swell gets in a bit better at those spots.

It was cranking up here in the Gong yesterday arvo, had a good session on a 4.7 after work. That said, even though the NE swell gets in nicely at East Corrimal there wasn't really much in the way of swell.

The thing to watch out for in Wollongong today is if it does it's old swing to the Nth and turn off trick, which by looking at the MSLP charts may happen. I'd expect it to be 25kts by 1130ish and build into the arvo with a potential 'shut off and go north' in the early to mid arvo, followed by a swing back to NE later on in the day. That said i've been wrong many times before.

4.7 at Corrimal! I was only just going on a 6.7 during after work time yesterday a couple of km north at Bulli.

ian, some of these guys are 72kg in a steamer full of water. 4.7 for me at a 'normal' weight of <85kg would have to be a solid 25knots and even then you can use a 5.4 at a place like Gerroa.

Yeah well as you know Ian I'm about 70kg :D There was probably the most wind 4-5pm when it was pretty consistent 23-27kts on the obs. When I got there at 5 it was still a nice 22-25kts till 7ish.

Depending on what board you are using you be surprised how small a sail you can actually run, if you are light like me :)

Oh I've calibrated CJW, I'd thought he'd at least be on his 5.4 yesterday. I'm working on a better calibration of Bulli vs. Corrimal.

Had around 20knts from 11 till 3 south of PT Perpendicular today till the rain killed it. Yesterday at Warilla I was amazed how quickly the wind strength built from 4pm, no clouds yesterday. It really showed today how the cloud cover and rain can destroy the seabreeze . Tomorrow , who knows whats in store with that weird Low sitting over Tassie.
