Not quite as bad as it sounds but the swell is definitely not as good as it has been. Had to go to Sydney for work the last three days so ended up missing on what looked like a very good day on Wednesday. Also that's the reason why you didn't see any updates.

Swell is about chest high in the good sets at the moment. Swell is supposed to swing around to the Nor'East with the afternoon high tide.

Wind is supposed to get up to the 10 to 20 knts range but I am guess we will see about 20 to 25 knts by lunch time. Looking at the clouds already forming out West and the current level humidity I would expect a thunderstorm by mid afternoon which will shut things down pretty quickly.

As such I'd say it will probably be best around lunch time.

Congrats to the winners of the Warren Holder and Jaeger Stone for winning the Masters and Open Pros respectively. There will be an expression session today between 2 and 3 pm which should good to watch.

Attached photo is a bit boring hence I have included a couple of shoots from last Tuesday's sunrise for your viewing pleasure:

HI stehsegler
I may be driving down from the Gold Coast to Sydney in Mid March and was just wondering if it would be worth a trip to Gerroa around that time. Is it getting a bit late in the season for NE's?
I have gathered that if the contest is on in late Feb , that is still good season.
Any help appreciated as it will help me decide what kit to take.
thanks

The Nor'Easter has been a bit sketchy all summer. That said I have seen good Nor'Easters as late as April. February to mid March certainly will see more swell than you get in Summer. You will need a floaty board and a bigger sail just in case.

Thanks,
jp99 single thruster will be my one board solution and have some bigger sails.
May be interesting , we mainly sail other tack on Goldy.

Rustle, Sydney has finally been getting some decent southerlies so worth having your gear just in case. If anywhere gets a decent NE it will be Gerroa, it takes a bit of luck getting the S/SE swell also. March can be tricky to pick for NE but generally if 5-10K NE in Sydney, sunny, high pressure nearby, Gerroa will be 15-20 K plus.

You can always go to Wanda if you are short on time.

Thanks Tomp
I think as I will be on the north side, I will probably go all the way to Gerroa if I head south for wind. Its only 1 1/2 hours and some beautiful country.
