Hi folks. It's been a while. Work recently got the better of me hence the lack of updates.
For those of you thinking about driving down today: In a nutshell don't bother unless you want to sail the heads.
The swell is pretty much none existent. I spend a good 15 minutes at the beach waiting for those bomb sets to come in but the photos below is the best I could get. IIt's knee high beach slop. I don't expect this to really improve throughout the day.
Wind is a different story. The first puffs of a Nor'Easter are there and I am guessing we will see about 20 to 25 knts by lunch time. If those pesky thunderstorms out in the valley stay away. There is quite a bit of moisture in the air (you can see it in the poor light conditions in the photos) and I wouldn't be surprised if we'd see a bit of storm activity this afternoon.
Looking further ahead early next week could bring a Southerly followed by a light Nor'Easter against a moderate Southerly swell the next day. It's early days and the BOM and NOAA models differ slightly. Here is hoping.
