Hi all, without trying to jinx the forecast, has anyone sailed an ESE at Narrabeen Lakes?
I only get out once or twice a year (despite making a commitment to sail more each year) so want to give myself the best shot at a good session.
I used to sail the lake yeeeeears ago in NEs and Westerlies but havent been there for years ie before all the redevelopment and parking meters.
So... on the map it looks like it would work but I'm unsure about how sand banks and shallow spots have shifted (in the last 30 years ????).
My other option was Umina Bch but not sure ESE quite gets in well enough?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers

ESE won't really get in to Narra.

Chinamans or Balmoral (Edwards beach) ok but paid parking & stupidly busy on weekends.

I would recommend Botany - Kyeemagh.

I was thinking the same. I think maybe Narra lake near scout hut. Will be a reach over to the sailing club area. Will be short runs only. If that fails down south to airport area. Good news is we can test on the first day, if its crap go south. Fingers crossed its a good breeze.

ESE is fine at Lake Dangerous. Just launch from the furthest west spot at Bilarong Reserve. Its near side shore so runs over towards Jammo and the shore further west towards Pipeclay Pt and back. The weed beds are a little shallow at present up high but if you stick to BAF from launch should be fine.
The forecast strong ESE has now backed off to 15 knots or so. Should be fun.

I think rigging & launching from Clontarf would be more fun in ESE/SE. Free parking too.

I think you're right ka43.... by the way, what is "BAF"?
Apologies to all for potentially jinxing the forecast
