Not sure if you are looking for flat water or small surf. If you are after flat water, head along to the waterfont Park on brisbane water drive,its mid way between Koolewong and Tascott. Best in anything fron South through to NE, jus be careful launching , booties are probably a good thing as there are a couple of sharp rocks etc
I've launched from there a few times and haven't had any issues with cutting my feet on rocks yet. However it is quite unpleasant trudging out through silt and mud for the first 10 or so meters so maybe having some sort of shoe on that you could then secure to your rig or something like that would be the go. I prefer to windsurfing with bare feet.
Tascott is a good spot for a learner except in westerly winds. The water is of much better quality than in the lakes.
